Just happened yesterday in Mexico, this 30 year old mother killed herself and her three daughters, aged 11, 9, and 6. She left a rambling note of explanation that largely had to do with the girls not growing up in poverty and her husband leaving her for a younger woman.
Her method of suicide/murder was to feed all three girls (and herself) lethal doses of pesticide. This is a not-uncommon method for very poor people to use, since it is very cheap and easy to obtain. Nonetheless, it is a pretty horrible way to die. Most of the time it is wrenchingly painful. It isn't a particularly quick death and is usually accompanied by deep spasms, wracking pain, vomit, foaming, urination, and defecation as your body makes a last ditch effort to purge itself of the toxins before you succumb.
