A high speed chase between Cartel sicarios and elements of the Mexican army ended in tragedy this week. The two gangsters were driving a 2005 Chevy Silverado down the highway at breakneck speed and decided to create a distraction by veering into a large group of school children who were waiting for the morning bus.
High school and junior high kids were flying through the air like bowling pins, multiple other vehicles were destroyed, the truck was cratered, and both sicarios escaped on foot in the ensuing madness.
Five teenage children (three girls and two boys) died at the scene and several others were injured and taken to the hospital. Photos are from mixed sources and are of varying quality-surprisingly few pictures have circulated of this incident. This area of Mexico is known for having a very active Nota Roja set, so I would have expected far more coverage of something so newsworthy.
